Medical Grade Tantalum Beads
 x-medics offer a wide range of medical grade tantalum beads. The beads offer good radiographic opacity and excellent bio compatibility. They are suitable as orthopedic markers and target beads as they are characterized by a good sphericity and a well-defined diameter. The beads have adequate mechanical properties to withstand the impact of insertion. Tantalum spheres, tantalum balls and tantalum beads are synonyms for identical products.
Embedded particles are known to be a problem when fabricating tantalum beads. All produced batches therefore undergo quality testing at independent laboratories to validate that the produced beads are free of embedded particles. The results of these tests together with the analysis of the material composition and the results of the physical measurements on the beads are documented in a 3.1B certificate that follows every shipment. The traceability of the test results is ensured by our ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management systems that routinely are audited by BUREAU VERITAS.
Beads with a diameter between 0.8 and 1.0 mm are available for instant shipping from stock. Other sizes may be produced on request. The beads are offered in 500 pcs packaging for convenient handling and storage in production.
